ADRA Fiji Works to Prepare for Flooding

Too often, Fiji endures flooding that fill homes with muddy waters, wipes out bridges, and destroys livelihoods. ADRA Fiji is currently working with ADRA New Zealand to increase community resilience, to prepare for hazards and risks, and to implement a disaster risk reduction plan in 10 communities.

The programs aims to improve drainage and rubbish disposal systems to minimize the possibility of future flooding, as well as improving basic health and social services by providing the communities with school supplies, restocking the health clinics, providing agriculture implements and supplying clean drinking water to households.

ADRA is well respected and well known for our community development programs in Fiji. Our goal is to strengthen communities and build their capacity so then can be more resilient.
