ADRA Responds to Hurricane Sandy

By ADRA International

Hurricane Sandy brought three days of devastating rains and winds throughout the Caribbean and the United States.

ADRA is providing clean water, food parcels, and blankets to families in some of the worst affected communities in the Dominican Republic where more than 1200 homes were completely submerged in mud. In Jamaica, ADRA has already distributed blankets and is currently assessing the damages to homes in order to further assist in the rehabilitation efforts.

In the United States, Sandy has affected much of the East Coast, stretching as far inland as West Virginia. Much of lower Manhattan in New York City and the New Jersey shoreline suffered extensive damage.

As hurricane Sandy's scope of impact continues to unfold in the coming days and weeks, ADRA remains committed to helping those who have been affected and in the re-building of lives.

Donations for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts through ADRA International, may be done online at http://bit.ly/X5Bm0Y or by phone 800-424-2372.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for the victims of Sandy and the many dedicated ADRA and ACS relief workers and volunteers.
