SILVER SPRING, Md. - Available now, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency’s (ADRA) new 2011 Really Useful Gift Catalog provides an opportunity for supporters to give the perfect holiday gift, assisting programs of their choice that will help people receive food and water, shelter from abuse, income generating training and education.
"The gift catalog is a great way for individuals and families to directly affect the lives of people in need around the world" said Julio Muņoz, bureau chief for Marketing and Development at ADRA International. "Supporters can rest assured that one-hundred percent of the funds donated go directly to the project specified. We are elated that the giving opportunities in ADRA’s gift catalog, not only change the lives of the beneficiaries, but also have a profound impact on the lives of those that give."
This year’s edition includes 63 different projects to choose from with each gift crafted so that supporters can take part in directly impacting the lives of individuals and communities that benefit from ADRA’s work. These include providing shelter, food, medical care and education to girls in Brazil; enabling families in Tunisia to start a beekeeping business as a source of income; moving children off the streets and into ADRA centers in Bangladesh; drilling wells to provide clean water to families in Cameroon; and offering children with disabilities in Rwanda the opportunity to have an education.
Also available in this year’s catalog are projects stamped with the enditnow™ logo. These projects are directly related to the enditnow™ campaign, a global awareness initiative co-sponsored by ADRA that strives to end all forms of violence directed at women and girls. By supporting the projects with the enditnow™ stamp, donors can help protect women and girls from domestic violence, sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, and empower them with educational and livelihood training opportunities.
ADRA gift certificates are available in amounts of $10, $25, $50, and $100; a thoughtful way to let others know a contribution was made in their name.
Donors can give with confidence knowing that ADRA meets the highly regarded and exacting standards for charitable accountability of the Better Business Bureau and has consistently received top ratings from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of more than 5,000 charities.
